Looking for your full Washington-Michigan preview? Here you go:

A battle of good versus evil begins tonight in Houston. Who will win? Probably the team you don’t want to win.

Here’s what to watch and how to watch it:

College Football National Championship

#2 Washington Huskies vs. #1 Michigan Wolverines

6:30pm | lots of ESPN | Michigan -5.5 | O/U 55.5 | NRG Stadium (Houston, TX)

Thumpasaurus: michigan, either by a huge blowout or in hilariously dramatic fashion. what better way to cap off the worst year of my life than with the most insufferable sports outcome of my life making southeast michigan, the place where i still live because i’m bad with money, absolutely uninhabitable.

remember folks, what happens tonight counts against 2023, not 2024.

BuffKomodo: My Penix will win. I’ll be happy.

misdreavus79: Ohio State and Michigan Maryland, the two teams with half a semblance of a passing attack, made Michigan sweat for four quarters. In comes Washington,, with an actual passing attack, and I can’t help but have 2022 TCU flashbacks.

I actually don’t care who wins and won’t be watching because I have a job (thanks whoever decided this was a good idea!), so I’m not making a pick either. Neither team winning would be surprising though.

RU in VA: ^^^ I actually don’t care either. I would watch a new season of Bachelor in Paradise over this.

I hope Harbz gets his job as the Redskins Washington Football Team Commanders HC and loves it.

WhiteSpeedReceiver: As we all know, Michigan has half of a national title since 1950. I am not ready to live in a world where Michigan is finally approach having as many national championships as Minnesota since the invasion of Poland to start World War II.

BoilerUp89: Halfway thru the season I thought Washington was the best team in the nation. Nothing I’ve seen since has changed my mind about that. Michigan is good and may very well win, but my pick to win it all remains Washington.

AlmaOtter: It would be very on-brand for Michigan football to emulate Michigan basketball and trip over their Penix to lose in the title game (2013/2018 March Madness). I’m hopeful that Washington can sling it just enough to stay ahead of the Wolverine rushing attack, but the good guys so rarely win in college football. Gimme the Huskies so I can terrify my dog by Awoooooo-ing with joy later tonight.

Kind of...: Seeing a lotta late love coming in for Washington among the national report types—32 of 48 at ESPN go for the Huskies, and 8 of 13 at CBS Sports.

It cliche, but seems like it’s going to come down to line play. If Penix has time, the WR talent is too much, even for Michigan. If Michigan generates pressure like they did vs. Alabama, then Penix, who, yes, is great outside of the pocket, will be running for his life.

When Michigan has the ball, it seems clear they’re going to try to pound away. There’s a part of me that thinks McCarthy is overrated and good for a back-breaking mistake tonight. And there’s a part of me that thinks Harbz is good for a galaxy-brained decision at some point. I think DeBoer is clearly the better game-day coach, and one of the best in the nation. But Urbz and Saban have each made some stupid gameday calls and gotten away with it because of great talent. And Washington has played more close games again mediocre teams this year than you realize.

Michigan will win unless their front seven gets stoned or they gag the game away. That’s all the analysis I’ve got.
