Minnesota! Quinnipiac! The men's hockey national championship TOMORROW! Here's what to expect:
In a trend we’re accustomed to, four Big Ten teams entered the NCAA Hockey Tournament, and only one is left.
Last Year I looked at how the move to the B1G has impacted Minnesota Hockey. Even a fifth consecutive conference championship could not get the Pride on Ice into the NCAA Tournament this spring. It is time to reset expectations for the B1G.
Mike Eaves has been let go by Wisconsin after back-to-back terrible seasons. Penn State will take on Michigan in the afternoon game while Ohio State and Minnesota face off in the night cap.
We have two games on tap today. Penn State hosts Wisconsin at 5 et/4 ct and Ohio State hosts Michigan State at 8:30 et/7:30 ct. All games on BTN and BTN2Go.
We've made it to the final weekend of B1G play with something at stake in each of the series. Minnesota look to close out another championship against Wisconsin while Michigan looks to hold off Penn State for the final bye in the B1G Tournament. OSU and MSU face off to determine 4th and 5th, the winner's coach will feel less heart this offseason. UNO and DU have a rematch this weekend in the first round of the NCHC Tournament. The winner of the best of the series moves on to the NCHC semifinals in Minneapolis
Minnesota held serve while Ohio State vaulted up to 4th. UNO continues its late season slide.
Two great series gave us two hard fought splits.
We kick of the second half of the conference season with two series. Michigan looks to strengthen its case for a number one seed. Minnesota looks to hang on to its chances for an at-large bid while Penn State is looking to stay in the B1G title race.
There's a loaded slate of games this weekend for B1G Hockey fans. Every team is in action with two conference series, two non-cons and UNO playing. Michigan and Penn State will play at MSG on Saturday while the Gophers will see old foes.
